Last 7 days of web completions

Saved focus-block counts in this browser. Blocks can have different lengths, so these are not focused minutes or a measure of attention.

Open to read this browser’s stored counts only.

Not stored does not prove zero completions. Blocking or clearing storage, another browser or another address can hide records. Multiple tabs are not combined in real time.

Only the last 7 days are displayed. Older dated values are not automatically deleted when the day changes. Clearing this site’s browser data can also remove other preferences and saved records.

Using the focus-and-break timer

This timer alternates fixed blocks of work and rest. It does not guarantee less procrastination or burnout. No install, no sign-up. The timer and your daily session count run in your browser and are not stored on our server. Cloudflare Web Analytics separately measures page views and load performance.

What the Pomodoro Technique is

Francesco Cirillo began the method with a tomato-shaped kitchen timer (pomodoro is Italian for tomato). It is often introduced as 25 minutes of work followed by a short break, but the creator cautions that a timer alone is not the whole method. This browser tool lets you try the timed part for yourself; it does not establish a productivity effect.

Is 25 minutes the right length?

We have not verified one interval as best for every person and task. Choose a 5-, 15-, 25-, or 50-minute work block and a 5- or 10-minute break. Before you start, write down one specific task. Afterwards, note whether you finished it and how often you were interrupted. Compare your own results on different days instead of treating the preset as a promise of better focus.

What to do with a break

If you want a screen break, you could stand up, drink water or look out a window. We cannot say that checking social media always harms your next work block. Notice what feels restful to you and whether you can return to the task.

For students and knowledge workers

  • Exam & certification prep: set one section to review and note how far you got.
  • Engineering & design: try 25 or 50 minutes and compare where you stopped.
  • Remote work: choose a 5- or 15-minute block that fits a real gap between meetings.

A completion graphic, not a focus guarantee

The web timer shows one digital treasure after each completed focus block and keeps today's count in this browser. In the separate Pomodoro at Sea app, the standard focus-completion treasure comes on a voyage that brings completed focus time since the last standard treasure to at least 25 minutes. Bonus expedition and supply-ship treasures do not reset that count. A first 5-minute block alone does not earn one. The app also offers island themes, streaks and ambient sounds. These are product features, not evidence of a lasting focus benefit. Web sessions and treasures do not transfer, so start fresh in the app.

FAQ

Does the timer stop if I switch tabs or turn off the screen?
The timer uses an end timestamp from your device clock and checks it again when you return. The display rounds remaining seconds up; paused time is excluded when you resume. Changing your device clock can affect the calculation. On phones, fully turning off the screen can limit background activity, so keep the screen on if you need a precise alert.
Can I change the focus and break lengths?
Yes. Work blocks can be 5, 15, 25, or 50 minutes and breaks 5 or 10. A long break follows every fourth work block; skipped blocks also advance the cycle.
Where is my session count stored?

Completed focus-block counts are kept in your browser's local storage by your device's calendar date. Today's display starts a new date. Older dated values are not automatically deleted. Open ‘Last 7 days of web completions’ in the timer to check saved counts.

Block lengths vary, so counts are not focused minutes or a measure of attention. Not stored does not prove zero completions. Blocking or clearing storage, another device, browser or address can hide records. Multiple tabs are not combined in real time. Counts are not sent to our server or app. Clearing this site's browser data can remove other preferences and saved records too.

What does the Pomodoro at Sea app add?
Treasure collection, 10 unlockable island themes, a focus streak, a captain rank, and stats charts. The iOS 1.0.16 release notes describe five additional sound choices alongside the existing sea sounds: brown, pink and white noise, a ship's clock, and deep-sea binaural (earphones recommended). These additions are not the app's entire sound catalogue. You can switch sounds mid-voyage. Android feature parity is not verified here. The core features are free, and removing ads is an optional one-time purchase.
Is anything sent to a server?
The timer and today's count run in your browser and are not stored on our server. Cloudflare Web Analytics does measure page views and load performance. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Sound or silence?

Compare two choices with one small task, then note comfort and attention. No sound is promised to improve focus.

Read the free sound-choice guide. The guide has no audio player; the web timer is separate from the app’s sound player.
